Participants need to bring their copy of the BLS Provider Manual
Heartcode® BLS Online + Skills Session

This course combines online self-study by completing the AHA didactic & simulations online, followed by a skills session with an AHA instructor

Can be taken by professionals with or without a current BLS card

Heartcode Course Requirements & Prerequisites

Obtain Heartcode BLS access key(s) from AHA’s online store

Online part must be completed prior to scheduled class, includes written exam

BLS COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
PROVIDER AND RENEWAL CLASSES
The AHA’s BLS Provider Course reflects science and education from the 2020 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR & team dynamics.
In the INSTRUCTOR-LED COURSE, students participate in classroom simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

ONLINE CLASS -- "HEARTCODE BLS"
Students will learn single-rescuer and team basic life support for adults, children and infants through online interactive exercises, scenarios and a written test. Navigation controls allow students to move easily through content as they learn how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilation and provide early use of an AED. Course also teaches relief of choking. The required BLS Provider Manual is included as an eBook.

Course Format: Blended Learning

The online portion of HeartCode BLS can be completed in approximately 1 to 2 hours. Time to complete the hands-on session varies from ~1-2 hours.
