Citizen Class Offerings

First On The Scene (FOTS)
First on the Scene (FOTS) provides the general public basic emergency response skills to life-threatening emergencies until EMS arrives on the scene. Through lesson presentations and hands-on skill stations, participants will learn how to access help in the event of and life-threatening emergency and what to do until EMS arrives. Course includes hands-only CPR/AED, Narcan for opioid overdose, and care of life-threatening bleeding.

Friends & Family CPR
Family & Friends CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a CPR course completion card to meet a job requirement. This course is ideal for community groups, new parents, grandparents, babysitters, and others interested in learning how to save a life.

Narcan for Narcotic (Opioid) Overdose
Learn to “Be the 1 Before 911” and save a life with Naloxone/Narcan Nasal Spray.

Stop The Bleed
The Stop the Bleed course is a hands-on, practical program designed to teach participants how to recognize life-threatening bleeding and take immediate action to save lives. Through demonstrations and skill practice, participants learn how to apply direct pressure, use tourniquets, and employ wound-packing techniques effectively. The course emphasizes rapid assessment, situational awareness, and decisive intervention in emergencies until professional help arrives.

Saving Lives in Stayton
This class teaches essential life‑saving skills for participants ages 12 and up (younger children may attend with approval). Training includes hands‑only and full CPR, choking relief, AED use, naloxone (Narcan) for opioid overdoses, epi auto-injector for severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis), and Stop the Bleed techniques such as direct pressure, tourniquets, and wound packing—empowering citizens to act before emergency responders arrive.

This CPR/AED course teaches participants how to recognize cardiac emergencies and deliver high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants. The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Certification and Renewal course prepares healthcare professionals to recognize and manage cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Following American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, the course emphasizes high-quality CPR, advanced airway management, pharmacology, and team-based resuscitation through hands-on practice and realistic scenarios.

The Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) course trains healthcare professionals to rapidly recognize, assess, and manage acute stroke emergencies.
